Why no popups?

I had an annoying friend who admired me a lot but I really hated him (for whatever reason). He popped up my face after every few minutes when I was between my other friends. One day I got irritated and ended the irritating relationship once and for all.
To some extent, like my annoying friend, the popups advertisements are MOST annoying form of advertisements. I hate them a lot as well as your users. Within seconds, I close any site with popup advertisement and I never tend to visit that site anymore. When you use popups on you website, you lose guaranteed visitors.
Your loyal visitors don’t like your site anymore thus losing a lot of viral marketing.
The best bet is to disable those annoying popups once and for all. Definitely, you lose A LOT of money but instead of popups you can use CPM advertisements on your site which will actually earn you a lot more than those popups.
How?
CPM is one of the decent ways to publish advertisement on your proxy websites. Some of them are actually relevant to your site.
Apart from relevancy, your loyal returning visitors are happy with your site. They spread the word about your proxy site; as a result, gaining more additional traffic. More traffic means more money.
As discussed previously on Monetizing proxy sites blog post, it is recommended to use Adsense on your proxy address form page (mainly homepage). On the proxied pages, you can use CPM advertisements instead of popups.
Now the question arises. Which advertisement company provides CPM advertisements for proxy sites?
Here is a list of companies which provides CPM advertisements and allows proxy sites:
Adbrite – live user pays for what you display – you set your own prices.
If you are rejected from any of the above listed CPM advertising sites, please let us know through comments. This might help us keeping our site up to date about monetization for proxy sites.
In the end, I would just like to say that don’t add annoying features to your website by which you will lose returning visitors. Keep in mind; you are generating money through those visitors.
